Discover the Roots of Yoga
Escape for a day with Kristin Schultz and special guest Usha Lasksmi and dive deep into the Roots of Yoga.
Discover the universal principles of Yoga that maintain the cosmic balance, individually, and collectively, and how they still apply to humanity as a whole irrespective of time, place, culture, or language.

This restorative day starts with an intentional practice, led by Zia Founder Kristin Schultz, followed by a communal Ayurvedic brunch. Then slip into the afternoon for an interactive session of study and discussion of the Yamas and Niyamas with Usha. Learning about these principles will give you an in-depth understanding of why yoga is more than just a physical practice and how yoga has the power to heal your body and mind.

WHY STUDY THE ROOTS OF YOGA?
Yoga is not just exercise, it is a spiritual path. Neglecting the origins of this practice is cultural appropriation and has bred a Western business model and mindset based on theft and disrespect for a thousands-year-old history. Studying the history, philosophy, and ethics of Yoga is one of the many ways we honor this history, create an authentic practice, and avoid appropriation.
