Meditation

Dhyana is a Sanskrit word meaning "contemplation and meditation," and is the seventh limb of yoga. The actual practice of meditation is not something we can actively do. Kinda confusing right? All the things we learn in class, online or from our teachers are techniques offered to help us settle, focus and concentrate. But practicing meditation is not turning off or controlling your thoughts or feelings - rather, the goal is for your mind to perceive yourself and the external world as one connected being. In the beginning, you may only experience dhyana or meditation for a few uninterrupted moments, but with practice, you can extend this time period.
