Yoga Guide Team Description
While our Member Services Team is the backbone of our day-to-day operations, we think of our teaching team as the tour guides of your Yoga practice. Aptly named, our Yoga Guide Team is responsible for fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that prioritizes accessibility and connection within every class, workshop, and service we offer. They are a collaborative, team-oriented community of local industry leaders who bring various teaching modalities and leadership skills. Yoga Guides are supported by a rock-star leadership team that handles all sub-requests and scheduling, marketing, sales, customer service, and ongoing coaching and development. Work areas include Leadership, Teaching and Facilitation, Customer Service, and Peer Mentorship.
Role Description
Zia is seeking passionate, professional Yoga Guides to lead small group and private yoga classes and facilitate workshops. Our Yoga Guide Team Members are the frontline of our studio experience - from holding brave space for everyone who attends a class to providing versatile tools and unconditional support for them to discover what is possible for themselves and their lives through the practices of Yoga.
Our Yoga Guides are resourceful in adapting their teaching to the abilities, energy, and unique needs of our clients, making a point to be approachable to everyone. You’ll be working in a supportive, team-oriented environment with passionate team members focused on building relationships, equitable business practices, and high-quality services. Position Type
Part Time, Non Exempt. About 2-6 hours per week. Yoga Guides are expected to lead a minimum of one class per week or four classes per month depending on their availability and the studio schedule.
Responsibilities

Lead small group and private Yoga classes, focusing on accessibility through the use of props and intentional pacing, adapting for the class style, time of day, and season, as well as the mobility and energy of the students in class.

Serves as clients' first point of contact during their shift, attending to customer and studio needs, including light cleaning tasks as needed.

Supports studio brand development by supporting community outreach and social justice efforts. Participates in special events such as health fairs, community gatherings, etc., as a studio representative as needed.

Experience handling inquiries and providing client support, including effectively articulating offers and services, answering questions, follow-through and the ability to make on-the-spot decisions while upholding the studio's policies and procedures with integrity.

Ability to maintain composure and sense of humor in high-pressure situations and the ability to work effectively with a spectrum of personalities.

Is a dynamic thinker and changemaker who has a passion for Zia’s vision and mission and catalyzing positive social change.

Is coachable and open to ongoing development as needed.
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 200 hours or equivalent education and training in Yoga Philosophy, Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation.

A demonstrated understanding of traditional Yoga principles and how they impact our lives off the mat, including the Yamas and Niyamas.

Experience working in retail, food service, wellness, healthcare, or other customer-focused working environment.

This role requires a Federal Criminal Background check and Pennsylvania State Child Abuse Clearances.
Compensation
The starting salary range for this role is $16.80 - $19 USD / hour based on the level of training and years of experience teaching Yoga, subject to change.
Salary is just one component of Zia’s total compensation package. Yoga Guides are hired as Non-Exempt W2 Employees and are paid equitably for their teaching, administrative, and meeting time. Additional perks include:
